For actors, by an actor.

I started this business at two major points in my life. I had just turned 18, and I was starting my first year at a BFA acting conservatory. It's been almost a decade, and I've worked as an actor and photographer in this thing we call "the industry" ever since. Most of my friends are actors, directors, and casting directors.

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that...

You're headshot should actually look like you.

We all have that one friend who looks unrecognizable in their headshots.

Maybe it's the retouching or the lighting, but you can't quite put your finger on it.

Casting directors notice it, too.

A GOOD HEADSHOT IS

Simple but powerful.

If you look up your favorite actors online, I'm willing to bet that above all else, their headshots are effortlessly simple. No extravagant outfits or backgrounds, just their face.

I focus on that same simplicity and effortlessness to create a headshot that feels like your most unapologetic self.

Victoria O.

"I received a beautiful pep talk from Ken that was incredibly encouraging. It allowed me to feel free, comfortable, and confident. It was a space to not only feel safe in what can at times feel awkward; but Ken made me feel as though I can make the space mine. It was amazing!"

Tushar R.

"Working with Ken was so full of ease and joy. I'm not the most comfortable in front of a camera, so I really appreciated Ken's pointers. It was a collaborative and efficient session, and I love the photos!"

Chaal A.

"Ken was positive and very welcoming from the beginning of our session. I felt very safe experimenting in front of his lens, and his praise was empowering. I am completely in love with the end products. 100% would work with him again!!!"

Kalista T.

"Ken is a phenomenal, well-rounded artist who I admire greatly. He has taken my headshots twice now, and I am always amazed by how professional & striking his photos turn out. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!"

Margaret R.

"Ken made me feel so comfortable and gave me such good direction throughout! We moved quickly, but it never felt rushed, and the photos turned out incredible!"

Felicia R.

"I felt like we really collaborated and found sweet spots together. He has such a great eye and great personality, and was so open to everything I was considering. I now have the fortunate problem of having too many amazing photos to pick from!"

Tommy V.

"Amazing, amazing, amazing. I will hire Ken ten times out of ten. Kind, bright, thoughtful, creative, dedicated, professional, and an incredible photographer!"

Matthew S.

"I had a wonderful time and felt so supported through the whole session. It was really pleasant and I feel great about it. My favorite part was just how simple it felt, I felt like I was doing a good job, and self-supported. "

Jen P.

"Ken was such an easy and open person to collaborate with. I felt taken care of the whole session in a way that allowed me to just be present and grounded from start to finish."

Kate L.

"Ken created such a comfortable, fun, and upbeat atmosphere during the shoot. His enthusiasm really eases any nerves and he’s just great to work with. And, of course, he’s very talented."

Janna F.

"I don't have a lot of experience with shoots so going in I was a bit nervous. Ken did a phenomenal job keeping the energy up and making the experience lighthearted and enjoyable. Overall a really great experience!! :)"

Hair and makeup artist

If there's one thing I absolutely recommend, regardless of your gender identity, it's hiring a hair and makeup artist. I've shot hundreds of headshots, and I can confidently say that sessions with a hair and makeup artist turn out significantly more polished than those without. And the best part is, you don't have to do anything. Just show up to your session and let a professional take care of the rest.
